Her love for hair started at a very early age, with dolls and barbies of course, but then moved onto experimenting with cutting and styling on pretty much any one that would let her! Her most favorite part of her job is transforming people with a new hair cut and colour. The ability to put a smile on someone’s face and grow their self confidence in just a hair appointment is what keeps her going everyday.
Alena graduated from Avant Garde Beauty College in April of 2014 and has been working hard at pursuing her passion in hair ever since. Alena is a Salon Manager as well as an Aveda Ambassador. She loves styling and discovering new and interesting up-styles, specifically with braids. She loves attending classes and furthering her knowledge in her spare time through learning as much as she can through online stylist forums and even Youtube.
Alena’s passion for hair has always lingered in the back of her mind. When she graduated high school in 2012 she decided to put her dream on the back burner and try taking classes at the University of Regina. However, it didn’t take long for her to realize that pursuing her dream of hairstyling was the right choice for her.
Pursuing education in the industry is very important to Alena, as she has attended Aveda styling, women’s cutting and color technique classes, Schwarzkopf color class and Evo men’s cutting class. Alena is also very passionate about Aveda products and the things that they do around that world (such as bringing clean water to communities in need).

When graduating from high school, Andrea applied to various post-secondary institutions unsure of exactly what she wanted to do after high school. Inspired by the hairstyling backstage at NYFW and fashion magazines, going to hair-school became a quick top choice. She moved to Saskatoon and graduated from Marca College in early 2008. Her first salon job was at a salon carrying Aveda products and it was love at first use. In her career she has worn a multitude of hats including behind-the-chair stylist, salon manager, educator and colour technician at the Aveda Institute in Calgary.
Along with a passion for hair, Andrea has always enjoyed and connected with being outdoors. With the move to Calgary, and many weekends spent in the mountains she decided to retire from her stylist/educator career and go back to school in search of a new career that would take her outside. Currently, Andrea is working towards a degree in Renewable Resource Management focusing on Plant Ecology from the University of Saskatchewan.
Andrea is our front-end manager but also steps back behind the chair every so often with a goal to make every guest in the salon feel welcome and comfortable.

Shanda has been with us since April 2018. “I think that how someone is treated from the moment they walk in the door till they leave again is so important. Each person has their own story and it’s important to connect with people in even the smallest ways in order for them to feel valued and appreciated, even if that is just a warm smile and saying hello. This along with a quality product and service, is what customer service is all about and I love being a part of that.”
