The Room was established in 1986 in downtown Regina and has grown through three beautiful locations over nearly 40 years. After more than 30 wonderful years in Cathedral Village, we’ve now found our fourth home in Regina’s Warehouse District — a creative, evolving community that reflects who we are today.

Alison is the owner and operator of The Room Hair Design. The Room was founded in April of 1986 and Alison took over ownership, in September of 2014. Alison was born and raised in Regina, Sk. and completed her cosmetology schooling in June of 2008 at Richard’s Beauty College. Alison went to high school in Regina at Balfour Collegiate and graduating in 2004. She also attended Bible School with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in 2005 in Perth Australia, carrying out humanitarian work in Cairo, Egypt.
Throughout her career Alison has invested countless hours into additional education both for her creative side and business side. She has attended Leadership and Management training through Dale Carnegie, The Schwarzkopf ASK Academy, Qnity for Aveda, and Aveda Business College. Not to mention countless courses and classes in hair cutting and colouring through Schwarzkopf, Aveda, Redken and The La Biosthetique Academy. Currently she is enjoying being a part of the High Performance Salon Academy, a community of Salon owners throughout Canada and the US pushing each other to grow and change the perception of the Salon and Spa Industry. Alison believes strongly in fostering the growth of the industry and building strong, career focused hair stylists, through mentorship, education and drive. Training and mentoring stylists to aspire to great heights in their career is what she is most passionate about. Alison has also worked at The Style Academy as a Guest Services Educator guiding and instructing up and coming new hair stylists.
Alison enjoys giving back to the community by participating in and coordinating events like ‘Soul Sisters’ raising funds for the YWCA, ‘Catwalk for Water’ in support of WaterAid and more.
Her love for hair started at a very early age, with dolls and barbies of course, but then moved onto experimenting with cutting and styling on pretty much any one that would let her! Her most favorite part of her job is the relationships that she has created with her guests over the past 15+ years and her staff over the past 10+ years. It hardly feels like work when you get to spend the day with such great people.
When Alison is not behind the chair or at the helm of the salon, she spends her time with her husband and two young boys, and will never turn down wine and chats with her closest friends.
Moon was born and raised in Thailand, and moved to Canada in 2006 with her family. Moon graduated from The Style Academy in the summer of 2016.
She loves absolutely everything about doing hair. Her specialty is most definitely men’s hair cutting. Moon is incredibly skilled in the art and techniques of men’s barbering and styling. She is always keeping her skills and techniques in this area up to date. She loves trying out trendy men’s fade hair styles and intricate hair tattoos.
Her creative abilities allow her to create just about anything anyone is looking for. Moon loves to connect with her guests and take their hair dreams to the next level.
Amelia has been creating and styling hair for over 17 years! From an incredibly young age she has always been interested in hair, nails and beauty. At the age of 17, she started her journey in the industry at Richards Beauty College. While in school, she competed in the ABA’s and was so committed to her studies she was able to graduate a month early. Amelia is also a certified nail technician, which she completed through Richards Beauty College.
Over her years as a stylist she has traveled around the province, as well as to Toronto and Las Vegas to further her education in advanced coloring and cutting classes, hair extensions and of course her favorite, bridal updos. She has had the pleasure of working on over 200 brides on their special day and countless bridesmaids! She has been involved in many fashion shows and photoshoots.
Amelia truly believes in this industry, “Great hair has the ability to do so many positive things. When you look good, you feel good”. She could not be happier that her career has given her the opportunity to bring so much happiness to others!
Faren was born and raised in Regina, she has worked hard at becoming a journeyman hairstylist while maintaining a work life balance with her husband and 3 children.
Faren has always been interested in doing hair and after taking many years to have her children and raise her family, she decided it was time to to turn her passion into a career and took the leap to study cosmetology at The Style Academy here in Regina.
Faren is always ready for a new challenge, and continues to push herself in her skills by taking as many education classes as she can.
When Faren isn’t working she enjoys taking time for health and wellness, various activities with her children and cooking!
Faren loves bringing her clients visions to life while working behind the chair, and adores making anyone’s day by making them feel special with a new look “Clients that trust me with their hair means everything!”
She is always accepting new clients and wants her chair to be a safe and inclusive space for all!
Jaslynn grew up in Lumsden, Saskatchewan and from an early age knew she wanted to be in the hair industry. From learning how to braid and style hair at a young age, and spending time with her Grandfather, who was a barber in Lumsden, she knew she had to head into a career that was very hands on. She graduated high school in 2018 and immediately enrolled in the Hairstyling program at The Style Academy in Regina. Her favorite things to do while in school were the Youth Experience, where she got to pamper young girls, as well, cutting and colouring women’s hair.
On her days off, Jaslynn enjoys painting, sewing, and hanging out with her friends. During the summer months she spends time at Dallas Valley Ranch Camp and brings a little bit of her career with her, making sure all the campers get spoiled with her styling techniques. Jaslynn loves traveling and has big plans to see more of the world in the future.
Fawn has always had an interest in all things hair and beauty starting from an early age when she used to style her sisters and mothers hair and continued experimenting on friends, family and of course her own hair, with haircutting and colouring. Fawn completed her cosmetology schooling in October of 2019 at The Style Academy in Regina. Fawn is a parent to two fur baby cats and loves puzzles, painting, traveling, hanging with friends and her soon to be husband in her free time.
Fawn was raised in the Fort Qu’appelle and Regina area and graduated from Thom Collegiate in 2012. Before hair school she enjoyed her jobs as a server at a number of restaurants or bars and still serves at The Casino of Regina. Taking a break between schooling allowed Fawn to strive for learning new techniques and skills.
Fawn loves the ability to transform a persons confidence with a new style. Her most favorite services are hair cutting, colouring and upstyles, but as a new stylist she is willing to tackle anything that comes her way. She looks forward to meeting you and creating your dream hair!
Cathirene was born and raised In the Philippines and moved to Canada in 2016 with her mother and brother. She started her journey in Edmonton for 5years, finished high school and then moved to Regina 2021. Cathirene graduated from The Style Academy in December of 2022 with her Cosmetology diploma as well as a Certification in Artificial Lashes.
Cathirene’s interest in hair start in grade school, braiding friends and classmates hair and continued when she was working in care homes and was able to support the residents by helping them with their hair from time to time.
She loves meeting new people and talking with them. Her most favourite services are haircutting, colouring and upstyles. As a new stylist she is working hard striving to learn every new techniques and skill she possibly can.
In her spare time she enjoys taking care of her plants and cooking her favorite Filipino dishes.
Catherines passions and goals are driven by the people around her pushing her to be better!
Originally from Manitoba, Lexi began her hairstyling journey in high school, starting work in the salon at just 16 years old. She received her Red Seal Certification in July 2025 and has since developed a passion for curly hair cuts and styling, helping clients embrace and love their natural texture.
Lexi moved to Regina earlier this year to help with a church plant. Faith and community play a big role in her life, and she loves being part of something that brings people together. When she’s not in the salon, Lexi channels her creativity through branding and design work for small businesses.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, drawing, and being with her family and friends. Lexi is excited to be part of The Room team and to continue building connections with her clients here in Regina.
