Green Circle Salons Hair Recycling Program

Ever wondered where the hair that we recycle goes? As a Green Circle Salon, almost everything we use can be recycled! Including hair, foils, cotton, colour and so much more.

We have lots of our clients ask “What could you use human hair for!?” And the answer is; TO CLEAN UP OUR EARTH!

‘All of those hair clippings that drop to the floor will be turned into giant pods and used to clean up oil spills. The hair is taken to a warehouse where the pods are stuffed and stored in the event of an emergency.’ (© Alberni.ca)

Green Circle is also researching a way to make a floor tile that is stronger than carbon out of all that hair! One day even your salon’s floor might be recycled!
